About Ayurveda
The Science Of Life
Ayurveda is one of the worlds oldest holistic healing sciences. The word "Ayurveda" in Sanskrit means knowledge of life. The core philosophy of Ayurveda is based on principle energies which govern everything. It understands that from energy comes form.
These core energies are represented by elements and further aggregated into what is referred as doshas.
Vata, Pitta, Kapha are the primary doshas and are biological energies found throughout the human body and mind, which govern all physical and mental processes.
Energies are quantum and from the lens of Ayurveda, energies contain unique qualities which lead to manifestation of matter and function. When functioning normally and present in normal quantities, the doshas maintain all healthy bodily processes. When out of balance, they create disease.
You Are Unique
Ayurveda recognises that each individual is unique. We are each born with our unique blueprint for optimum health and vitality, referred to as ones Prakruti. Prakruti is the mental and biological constitution of an individual. The unique combination of the three doshas that forms a person's constitution at the time of conception creates the inborn tendencies that influence how one experiences life. The doshas are the cellular intelligence and can be aligned with the recognition of DNA in our current science. Understanding an individuals Prakruti provides a blueprint for health and fulfillment.
Process of Illness
Vikruti is the current state of an individual, as opposed to Prakruti, the original state of the constitution.
Vikruti helps us to understand the imbalances or symptoms that we are experiencing. It is also a state of the body and mind in which the individual is more prone to disease.
The imbalance of doshas create toxins in the body and mind. Over time, the cumulation of toxins can lead to illness and disease.
The path to chronic illness is not something that manifests overnight, but a slow process of accumulating toxins that impact cellular intelligence.
Path To Health
The path to health is the path of restoring balance. This requires an understanding of the state of srotas (energetic channels), dhatus (bodily tissues) and current state of doshas. Understanding all these aspects is part of identifying the root cause of an imbalance.
Ayurveda utilises many diagnostic tools such as pulse, tongue and iridology to determine the health status of an individual and identify the imbalanced areas (organs, tissues, channels).
Restoring balance involves clearing toxins from the body and mind through herbal preparations, Ayurvedic therapies and the individuals own efforts in making their life more compatible and harmonious.
